Channel for children will turn green to celebrate Earth Day.
Cartoon Network will showcase the April 22 marathon of cartoons about the environment
MEXICO CITY (09/ABR/2011) .- To celebrate Earth Day, the pay-TV channel Cartoon Network will be green with a marathon of cartoons with episodes dedicated to protecting the environment.
On April 22 the signal will have special programming throughout the day, some of the most fun and wacky characters will join the campaign to unite the children of Latin America to act on behalf of ecology.
The initiatives are organized under the banner of Cartoon Motion, and the marathon will offer fun caricatures in addition to the Oscar-winning film, "Happy feet: the penguin."
It also included programs with environmental themes such as "Walter and Tandoori", "Oscar's oasis", "Master raindrop and the five elements" and "The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack" among others.
Green Campaign Cartoon Network will be developed in collaboration with the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF).
The task shows public service ads featuring popular cartoon characters that promote sustainable actions around the three R's: Reduce (Johnny Bravo), Reuse (Billy and Mandy) and Recycle (The Flintstones).
In addition, children will be invited to visit the channel's website to create their own cartoons on the themes of the Green Campaign with the help of data on environmental problems and advice on actions they can take in their daily lives .
The book has technical support from Earth Child Institute, a global NGO that seeks to "reforest and energize the world ... one child at a time."
May 1 Cartoon Motion debuts a regular half-hour block. This new program segment will focus on new shorts and episodes of "Walter and Tandoori", "Camp Lazlo," "My Gym Partner's a Monkey", "Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends," "Ben 10" and " The Powerpuff Girls "
